Consolidated over 200 servers into 40 physical servers via VMWare's Virtualization. Managed our Virtual infrastructure in ESX 2.5 and 3.0. Engineered and administered over 100 different managed client networks. Mail server experience includes: Merak, Sendmail, Postfix MailEnable, Barracuda and Ironport. SQL experience includes MS SQL 2000, 2005 along with MySQL. Experience with hosting programs such as PLESK and HELM and cPannel. Setup Windows and Linux Clusters with SQL replication for Bind and MS DNS.
Planned and implemented business continuity and disaster recovery plans for two datacenter locations in Houston and Denver using a variety of technologies such as configuring scripts and automation, SAN's and NAS, and tape and other offsite backup solutions.
Consolidated over 200 physical Windows 2003 and RedHat Linux Enterprise 4.0 web and dns servers. This was migrated using VMWare's P2V solution onto just 42 physical VMWare ESX 2.5 and 3.0 servers on an infrastructure using EMC's CX300 SAN on a Brocade SilkWorm 200E fiber channel switch. Each physical server was engineered with two dual channel fiber interfaces to redundant Brocade SilkWorm's for maximum uptime.
Responsible with training and management of our junior technicians to show them best practices and training on new technologies. I didn't go home until the last technician was done with his daily duties or any emergency they were working on. I was on call 24x7 and was the first to call after hours for emergencies.
